Vocatura Bakery: A Delightful Italian Bakery in Norwich, CT

Got italian grinder and it was excellent. They don't make them like this down south or up north for that matter. Had to come back home to relive the good old days with a grinder from Vocaturas. Thanks for being around all these years.

I love that place. However, lately I am starting to wonder. This is the 3rd time my grinders have been messed up. I told the younger girl my order, she then placed me on hold so she could back and get my mom’s order. When I went to pick up my order my moms was perfect but mines I was upset (highly) and I was also sharing with a friend. I have a condition I cannot eat tomatoes. I called and told them what happened, she said sorry about that she will make it for me. I said that’s fine. Then I looked at the grinder and said I cannot eat it. My friend had already started to eat her half. I told her I would need it back. So I went back to the store. When I got there my sandwich was not what I asked for and on top of it, it looks like it was made out of anger. I get tuna, white American, extra mayo, extra salt and pepper and banana peppers. Looking at this sandwich it is not what I wanted. Just threw together and like bye get out. The young girl asked to take it back. Like yessss, this is not what I ordered. Then for the next one re-made to be mediocre . I’m really starting to not wanna go back. I’m tired of wasting my gas and what if the tomatoes was an allergy. Not pleased at all!!!

One of the very few bakeries that sell real Italian bread! I make eggplant PARMESIANA grinders with it. Try some! You won't be disappointed!

BEST GRINDERS EVER! Seriously. We count days until we can come back home for these delicious sandwiches. Every sandwich we ever eat is compared to these. “It’s no Vocatura’s” is an expression our kids hear often. We’ve searched high and low in Oregon, and nothing has measured up. Dave Vocatura and his crew know what they are doing. Their experience shows! The bread is perfection. The meat and cheese, the tomatoes and lettuce! (The lettuce is so important.) It’s all excellent together. Plus, each time at Vocatura’s, we happen to chat with at least one other patron, who also sings the praises of this bakery! Thank you for always giving us your best. We can’t wait to come back again. Pizza and fresh cannoli are good, too.

Best BLT grinder around. Look at that double bacon! Soft bread, not too much lettuce, and a good amount of tomato and lettuce. They also recently started to do stromboli's. Pictured here is a specialty chicken/ bacon/ ranch with a hint of garlic. They gave a container of tomato sauce to pair perfectly. Highly recommend this place.

Can't beat the taste of this food. They have been there forever with the same owners. You will not be disappointed.

This place is my favorite for a grinder,the bread is a major star and the combination of all the ingredients is beyond compare
